COMMON NAME: Native Coastal Pigface (Blue)
BOTANICAL NAME: Carpobrotus glaucescens
HABBIT: A rambling, succulent groundcover. It has thick fleshy, Bluey green leaves. Produces delightfully large pink flowers in the warm times of the year.
HEIGHT: Stays under 400mm.
WIDTH: As it can anchor itself to new soil positions it can span over 4 metres.
CLIMATE INFO: Prefers the warm zones. However, it will grow well in protected spots in cool zones. Great for exposed areas and is very drought and salt tolerant.
GARDEN USES: Great for set and forget groundcovers in difficult sunny spots.
CULINARY USES: The fleshy leaves are considered a bush tucker and are used in cooking.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
