COMMON NAME: Mint (Native River)
BOTANICAL NAME: Mentha australis
DESCRIPTION: A perennial creeper that has small, bright green leaves and amazing mint flavour.
HEIGHT: Can get up to about 20-30cm.
WIDTH: Left unchecked it will span to about 1 metre.
CLIMATE INFO: Naturally grows in damp areas along riverbanks. Prefers dappled light away from the direct sun. Does well in clay type soils.
GARDEN USES: A good aromatic ground cover that can grow in those difficult wet, clay areas.
CULINARY USES: Has really strong mint flavours that are great in cooking and teas. Used traditionally to treat colds.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
