COMMON NAME: Calamansi lime (Calamondin)
BOTANICAL NAME: Citrus x microcarpa
DESCRIPTION: A large evergreen shrub with small glossy, green leaves. Produces an abundance of white star shaped flowers, followed by huge amounts of ripening orange fruit.
HEIGHT: Can grow up to 6 metres in tropical areas. Most domesticated plants grow to about 3-4 metres.
WIDTH: Will span to about 2 metres.
CLIMATE INFO: Grows in most areas but does best in warm sub-tropic to tropical environments.
GARDEN USES: Great specimen tree or surprisingly very good planted as a hedge.
CULINARY USES: The tart juice from the fruit is a staple ingredient in southeast Asian cuisine. Also makes exceptional jam.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
