DESCRIPTION:A large evergreen shrub with small glossy, green leaves. Produces an abundance of white star shaped flowers, followed by huge amounts of ripening orange fruit.
HEIGHT: Can grow up to 6 metres in tropical areas. Most domesticated plants grow to about 3-4 metres.
WIDTH: Will span to about 2 metres.
CLIMATE INFO:Grows in most areas but does best in warm sub-tropic to tropical environments.
GARDEN USES:Great specimen tree or surprisingly very good planted as a hedge.
CULINARY USES:The tart juice from the fruit is a staple ingredient in southeast Asian cuisine. Also makes exceptional jam.
