COMMON NAME: Lily (Blue Flax)
BOTANICAL NAME: Dianella caerulea
HABIT: A perennial with a spreading habit that has strappy, narrow leaves that are vibrant green in colour. Produce delicate blue flowers followed by dark purple edible berries.
HEIGHT: Gets up to 75cm.
WIDTH: Individual plants will spread about 50cm
CLIMATE INFO: Grows in most spots and in most soils. Naturally found in natural grasslands moving in and out of shade.
GARDEN USES: Great re-vegetation grass for retaining sloped areas. Is also a good addition to areas underneath trees to add colour with its flowers and fruit.
CULINARY USES: The edible fruit is a popular bush tucker berry.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
