COMMON NAME: Kangaroo Grass
BOTANICAL NAME: Themeda australis
HABIT: A tight clumping grass with green/blue, narrow, weeping leaves. Produces lovely red tinged seed spikes in the warm time of year.
HEIGHT: Gets up to about 90cm.
WIDTH: Large clumps can span about 340cm.
CLIMATE INFO: Grows in most places in most soil types. Young plants can be weak in frost.
GARDEN USES: A great re-vegetation species. Also when mass planted the weeping nature combined with the drifting seed heads can create a mesmerising effect in the landscape.
CULINARY USES: Can be used as a native type of wheat to make bread.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
(Seasonal pruning and/or packaging may occasionally reduce height)
