COMMON NAME: Grey sedge
BOTANICAL NAME: Lepironia articulata
HABIT: Produces long, cylindrical, grey stems. Grows in thick, dense clumps.
HEIGHT: Can get up to about 2 metres.
WIDTH: Main clumps can span to 500mm.
CLIMATE INFO: Does best in warm to hot areas with good rainfall or access to generous amounts of water. Grows best in full sun down to medium shade.
GARDEN USES: Great used in ponds and wet boggy areas. Structurally it creates great contrast with its amazing upright nature and striking colour.
CULINARY USES: In various countries, these plants are used as ‘green straws’ to reduce plastic and paper wastage.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
