COMMON NAME: Gardenia Florida
BOTANICAL NAME: Gardenia augusta
HABIT: A classically delightful small evergreen shrub that has deep green leaves contrasted by sharp medium sized white flowers that produce one of the richest fragrances in the plant kingdom.
HEIGHT: Gets up to about 1 metre in height.
WIDTH: Grows quite square as it spans to 1 metre across.
CLIMATE INFO: Doesn’t like frosts so grow in protected spots in cold zones. Does great in dappled light areas all the way through to full sun.
GARDEN USES: Has super fragrant flowers, so, grow close to traffic areas as to enjoy the aroma. Can be used as a small informal hedge and is perfect for cottage style gardens.
