COMMON NAME: Finger Lime (Pink Ice).
BOTANICAL NAME: Microcitrus australasica.
HABIT: An evergreen, fine leaved, small tree. Grows upright with an eventual weeping habit.
HEIGHT: Can get to 5 metres, best to keep pruned under 3 metres.
WIDTH: Spans to about 1.5 metres.
CLIMATE INFO: Can be grown in most areas. Fruits best in warm to hot zones.
GARDEN USES: Quite a unique looking small native tree. Can be a good solo specimen.
CULINARY USES: The long sausage shaped fruit is truly unique. The brown outer casing holds spherical balls of citrus flavoured bliss. The ‘Pink Ice’ variety develops a slightly pink hue through the centre which develops the longer the fruit hangs on the tree.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
