COMMON NAME: Garlic Chives.
BOTANICAL NAME: Allium tuberosum.
HABBIT: It is a vigorous bulbous perennial that forms a dense clump of strappy, edible leaves.
HEIGHT: Can get up to 300mm.
WIDTH: Clumps can fill out to about 200mm.
CLIMATE INFO: Performs best in medium to warm zones. May become herbaceous in the cool regions.
GARDEN USES: It has a very neat clumping habit that can be used as a very effective border plant. Many garden enthusiasts swear by it as a good plant to deter pests.
CULINARY USES: With its strong garlic aroma, the leaves are great for cooking.
