COMMON NAME: Crimson bottlebrush
BOTANICAL NAME: Callistemon citrinus
HABIT: Large evergreen shrub with narrow, matte green leaves. The leaves are lemon scented when crushed. When mature it produces massive sprays of deep red bottlebrush flowers.
HEIGHT: Will normally grow to about 3 metres.
WIDTH: Will span to about 2 metres.
CLIMATE INFO: Grows well in most coastal areas. Doesn’t do its best in extremely dry areas. Naturally occurs along the coastal fringes.
GARDEN USES: A great specimen tree when in flower. Also, a fantastic bird attractor.
CULINARY USES: The flowers contain sweet nectar and are commonly used to add sweetness to teas.
CONTAINER TYPE: 55mm Nursery Tube. (Tube diagonal width is 55mm, Tube height is 85mm).
CURRENT PLANT HEIGHT: Approximately 100mm to 150mm.
(Seasonal pruning and/or packaging may occasionally reduce height)
PROPAGATION TYPE: Seed grown.
