BOTANICAL NAME: Imperata cylindrica

DESCRIPTION: A perennial rhizome grass with long narrow leaves and wispy white flower heads that can spread rapidly and form a dense coverage.

HEIGHT: Can get up to 2 metres.

WIDTH: The plant can spread over 10 metres.

CLIMATE INFO: Grows everywhere, young plants may be a little frost sensitive.

GARDEN USES: Used to retain sloped soil sites and re-vegetate disturbed areas. When contained in a pot it is a hardy and ornamental feature for difficult spots.
